Twisters to be premiered at Italy’s Taormina Film Festival
Lee Isaac Chung‘s highly anticipated, seat-gripping thrill ride TWISTERS will have its Italian premiere at the Teatro Antico in Taormina as part of the 70th edition of the Taormina Film Festival, which will take place from July 12 to July 19.
The epic studio disaster movie will arrive in Italian theatres on July 17th distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, and will be available in North American’s theatres starting from July 19th distributed by Universal Pictures. TWISTERS will show all its visual strength and adrenalin power on the big screen of the Teatro Antico, which has always been at the heart of the Festival, with its evocative ancient charm.

TWISTERS is a sweeping current-day chapter of the 1996 blockbuster. It stars Golden Globe nominee Daisy Edgar-Jones (Where the Crawdads Sing, Normal People) as Kate Cooper, a former storm chaser, and Glen Powell (Anyone but You, Top Gun: Maverick) who plays Tyler Owens, a charming and reckless social media superstar. Two opposing forces who come together to try to predict, and possibly tame, the immense power of tornadoes.
The cast includes Golden Globe nominee Anthony Ramos (In The Heights), Brandon Perea (Nope), Golden Globe awardee Maura Tierney (Beautiful Boy) and Sasha Lane (American Honey), along with David Corenswet (the upcoming Superman), Daryl McCormack (Peaky Blinders), Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) and Nik Dodani (Atypical).

Pictures and Amblin Entertainment’s TWISTERS is a Lee Isaac Chung film, produced by Oscar® nominee Frank Marshall (the Jurassic Park and Indiana Jones franchises) and Patrick Crowley (the Jurassic Park and Bourne franchises). Written by Mark L. Smith, screenwriter of the Oscar®- nominated film The Revenant, from a story by Joseph Kosinski, based on characters created by Michael Crichton & Anne-Marie Martin, TWISTERS will be in Italian cinemas from July 17th, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.
